Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA)
The standard hearing test that maps the softest sounds you can hear across pitches.
About this service
Pure Tone Audiometry establishes your hearing threshold at each frequency, in each ear, using calibrated tones delivered through headphones and a bone conductor. The result is an audiogram: the reference chart every later decision, from hearing aid selection to surgical referral, is built on. The test is painless, requires no preparation, and simply asks you to respond whenever you hear a tone.
